Have a seat...

Last week we had a little progress in one of my client's living rooms and I just wanted to share with you an update. These stools I bought, are made with beautiful rich wood legs and upholstered seat.

They are gorgeous as is with the greige linen seat, but... we wanted something more tailored and along the color lines we were working with. I knew with a touch of fabric they could be dynamite.
As I learned back in History of Furniture, this style of stool actually stems from the Egyptian's first and most important furniture item. The small platform of wood underneath  the stool legs is called the plinth, which allowed the stool to sink into the grass floor covering they had back them, and so you could still see the full leg after sinking.

There's your history lesson of the day.
And, after we recovered with some very fun fabric... amaze!
Here's a sneak peak of where the stools will rest in front of the fireplace in the living room. I know this is a rough picture, but I just wanted to give you a little looksee.
They are so sturdy, and what we call the "big man stool", large and sturdy enough for a basketball player to sit on and not feel awkward. A great option for more seating in the conversation area.

These would also be darling in front of a bed. Let me know what you think!

Big man furniture is important. I will never forget, when the hubs and I were in college, still dating, he came into my room and sat in my little dainty wood desk chair... little girl furniture for sure. The two back legs literally snapped under his weight. Hahaha!

These look fabulous and sturdy!
