Palm Beach Powder Sources: Part One [Art]

Today, let's get artsy.
First off, I wanted a gold bamboo frame. If you don't find them vintage (also in the correct size) they are really hard to find, or you can buy new for around $60, for just the frame. Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and Jo Anns, don't have a good bamboo gold... and I could have ordered custom, but I wanted to do this quick and for a little penny. So..... I found this! Online at Walmart for a whopping $16.99! Gold Spray paint here I come.

 Ta-da!
The beautiful watercolor print of showgirl came from one of my fav Etsy sellers, East Witching. And... she's having a sale! Check out the puffin bird. I really want him in a nursery one day.
Next up, I wanted some botanicals. Palm trees would be good, but I didn't want them to look cheesy, so I opted for ferns. I love the different greens in there! Guess what? These are free!

They are printables from Graphics Fairy, and I just popped them right into some gold frames.
I used Plate II and Plate III.
The two silhouettes on top are Mr. & Mrs. Darcy. These I got from my grandmother Polly. I love having these in here to remind me of her. And Mr. Darcy's hat is just fabulous.
A pile of fun soap boxes from T. J. Maxx. I really liked the stitching and the colors on the boxes. I had to let them air out for a while because the soap smelled like eucalyptus in a really bad way.
The artwork above the towels was a Michelle Armas print I received for Christmas from my mother. I had it framed in a simple thin gold metal frame.
I like the simplicity, and how it really shows off the colors in the print.
Speaking of Michelle Armas, there are some killer deals on One Kings Lane today with her prints! These are my two favorites.

Check them out before they go off sale!

Welcome to my...

I recently themed my powder bath in the hall, Palm Beach Powder Room Chic. With a tiny gallery wall featuring the "Showgirl"in pink below.
Of course, like any photo shoot... Mr. Bo-cephus, was ready for his close up...right in my shot.
Possibly one of my favorite little pieces of art...by Michelle Armas on the wall.
All sources and DIY projects from this room coming up tomorrow!

Master Bedroom Reveal

Good Tuesday lovelies! Today is the day for the Master Bedroom Reveal. I am not completely done in here and some things will change... but this is "where we're at" right now.
I wanted to do two large prints on the sides of our bed, and I wanted them to be abstract. Stay tuned a little later, you wont believe how much of a deal these are. They pull the room together in one artwork, the gray tones from the paint color, a slight strip of the tangerine in the marble, and gold to match the frame. The nightstands are actually desks from World Market. I liked the X on the door.
Here's a close up of my nightstand. Two pictures from our wedding, and my fat baby Bo.
And, the brass Ellie I got from my family this Christmas.
On my nightstand I also have a brass antique bamboo tray that I use to hold some of my jewelry. The other stuff hangs out on the bar cart that also serves as my vanity right now. The blue and white bowl is from Anthropologie, and the vase is milk glass from an estate sale.
This would be husband's night stand.

His vintage "monopoly" car I call it. We found this in an antique mall in Kansas City. I love that this car sits next to our picture from the wedding in our getaway car.

And in his tray: His beloved Blackberry, a bow-tie, knotted pink and navy cufflinks, and a small mug thing he brought back from Germany.

In the artwork: As you will notice, mine is more pink.
And his has more black and gray to it.
We made this headboard out of a light tangerine velvet. One day I will show you the process. It wasn't pretty, but the project was completed, and we are still married.
Thanks for joining me along the tour of the Master Bedroom. Stay tuned for details on the artwork.
