On my soap box.

As you can guess from above... there was another Design Time segment today on KWCH Channel 12 Morning News.  Today's tips were focused on green living and design. Learn how to make homemade laundry detergent and paint inside a small place without wearing a gas mask for fumes.

Click here to see the video.

Recipe for Homemade "On my soap box" Laundry Detergent:
1 - 4 lb. box Super Washing Soda
1 - 4 lb. box Baking Soda
1 - 4 lb. box Borax
3 bars Kirk's Castille Soap or Fels Naptha (a.k.a. the hardest word to say on TV)

2 Tablespoons per load. – works with High efficiency machines, just add to the drum of the machine. This recipe should last for 420 loads. Woah. I will have this for like 2 years.  And, you can find all of this at Walmart.

First unwrap the bars of soap, cut into cubes and put into a food processor and pulse until it looks like shredded cheese. Don't taste. Next pour all other ingredients into a large mixing bowl, added shredded soap, and stir to combine.

Also in the segment, Mythic paint - a completely non-toxic paint. Some stores (ahem... Lowe's, Sherwin Williams, etc) sell low VOC, but they don't carry Zero VOC. The only place to get this is Wichita is Verde, located in the Roots and Bloom building downtown. Even cooler they will deliver the paint to your house! Check out their Facebook here.
If you follow me on Instagram (@threepinkdots) you would have seen this photo right before the segment. Seems like I bring the heaviest and most awkward props to the station. Thanks to the cute producer, I make it in right before the red light goes on.
