I'm sick...

1/2/3/4/5/6

I've got this thing called a "Spring Fever". Yes, I know it's only the fourth day of January... but I'm ready.

Ready for color, warmth, sunny days, my boxwoods not to look so dead fugly, and bright color blocking clothes. Can I get a little resort collection my way?

So since I've been sick lately, I decided to get a jump on things and make a spring-like mantel. Here she is...

Let me know what you think. I personally think she's missing a couple staffordshire dogs. Just sayin.

Razzle-Tassel...

I grew up in a house full of tassels. That's right, beautiful frilly tassels on everything. Tassel the drawers, tassel the TV cabinet, tassel a basket, tassel the needlepoint-dog pillows, tassel the doors, etc.

Back in college, our sorority once changed the words of razzle-dazzle during rush. Man that was a bad idea after singing it 600+ times. It was like body glitter - always a good idea in the beginning.

How do tassels now fit into everyday life? Let me show you...

Tassel garland.

Festive balloon party tassels.

Hope you have a fan-tassel day!

Off to stage another hizouse. Word.

I am now an art-teist...

This summer I took an art class, and got inspired to create. I create pieces that are original, and now love finding the perfect mix of hues to create a statement in decor. I like figuring out other pieces that would go along with the paintings as well. Here are some of my recent creations! Canvases can only be delivered in the Wichita area, but prints can be mailed all over.

"Orange Coral"
Original acrylic painting on linen paper
8 x 10

"Strikes out"
Original acrylic painting on linen paper
8 x 10

"Bleeding Heart"
Original acrylic on canvas

This one I titled "Minnows" It started like this... and I wasn't satisfied.

It was pretty and I loved the blues, greens and grays, but it was too perfect for abstract. So I did this...

And now I am very happy with it!

What do you think? I'm a new art-tiest, I can take the constructive feedback.

If walls could talk...

They would say that they like being striped. At least these do.

Do you ever think about having a striped wall? I am constantly looking at different entryways thinking, that would be really dramatic to do stripes in here...

This one is from one of my favorite bloggers Joi's house. The wonderful campaign dresser doesn't hurt either.

I love the pop of orange in the table behind the light blue walls, and an Ellie table at that!

This gal, from 4 Men and 1 Lady, was on the Nate Berkus Show, and I love their house.

Monkey see... Monkey two...[New items in the shop!]

Fun-day Tuesday.

These cute little munchkins are just a little preview of what's new on 3 Pink Shops, and what's coming. New items are currently being added to the shop, today and the rest of this week.  Some items are Wichita-bound only. They are too big and cute to ship.. sarwy.

Somethings have already sold, I'm sorry to say these darling Chinoiserie glasses are on their way to California. I secretly wanted to keep them. ;)

Can you imagine these quirky and whimsical babies somewhere in your house? I can. They make me laugh every time I see them.

Like Will and Kate, but monkey-style. I'm going to leave you with that.

Colorful Kitchens

As we all know, the kitchen is the hot spot in the house. Anytime we entertain, people gravitate towards the kitchen. It's also one of the places in your house that when updated can return real estate benefits.

Since we love to be in here the most, why not treat it with full attention?

Below are a few of my favorite kitchens, provided by Traditional Home. Looking for a new cabinet color? New hardware?  Take a peeksy.

Love the dark gray wash on these cabinets.

One day I hope for white marble countertops. These are to die for.

Just beautiful!

I love the look of this backsplash with the contrast of the wall and cabinet color.

Happy Monday!

Inspiration: India

Today I am inspired by India. Why? The colors, the texture, the lines, the curves, the architecture...

View the images below found on Pinterest. Makes me want to use one of these color palettes in a room.

What colors inspire you? Do you find new things in traveling that you want to bring home?

Of course I love an Ellie, always.

This color of blue with the green below is impeccable.

Love this green with gold accents!

Enter this way...

The entry way is now finished! With the addition of the perfect art piece and fresh flowers, we are done!

I framed a vintage scarf with gray, linen and navy tones to pull out the navy in the chest. The frame is navy and chrome finished to pull out the silver leafing from below.

A white orchid adds drama with the height and a delight with the flower.

Mr. Bo would not stay out of my photo session, so after 20 tries, I just took his picture to make him happy.

Pom-pom balls and tents...

As you probably have already seen the May/June issue of Lonny is live.  Below are a few of my favorite photos. All images via the latest issue of Lonny.

I love this outdoor style. A striped cabana is so classic. A brown and white version instead of black is the new twist.

Amazing inspiration wall for their office. The oversize lamps are a touch of Jonathan Alder and slightly fabulous.

The striped wall with red Patagonia mirror was a grand concept. Props.

I love mixing old traditional and new style.

See... it is ok to have a cement dog

First of all, that mirror. Second of all the curtains...

Wall color is so intriguing.

I end this post with my favorite photo.

Three-ish words... pom-pom balls.

That's all, have an exquisite day.
